A few inquiries have been received asking why we are only identifying the top teachers, not also the worst performing.  As Bill Gates has observed in an editorial, we tend to agree that  a public shaming of the worst teachers is not the best way to use teacher performance data. The information we are sharing is more akin to identifying the teachers that are on the honor role or have made the All-star Team.

We are not opposed to the data  being used to identify low performing teachers, and are willing to share that data with charter school operators about their own teachers.  We would also be willing to share that information with other Public School Principals, but only if they have hire and fire authority- for school districts already have this information but usually chose to ignore it.
